Halfway Through the Season. Still Ready?

We’re about halfway through hurricane season.
So far, maybe you've used some of the bottled water. Someone raided the snack supply. A few batteries found their way into a remote. The power banks haven't been charged since June.
It happens.
And that's really the point of a mid-season Ready Check.
School is back in session. Work schedules change. Routines change. Where everyone will be on a Tuesday in August may be very different from where they were when you made the plan in May.
If you prepared before hurricane season, you don't need to start over. Just take a few minutes and make sure what you put in place is --still in place--.
Check the water and food. Charge the power banks. Test the flashlights. Take a look at medications and first-aid supplies. If you have a generator, give it a test run. Make sure the fuel, cords and equipment you expect to use are ready.
Then give the plan itself a quick look.
And while you're at it, take a walk around the house. Summer has a way of accumulating patio furniture, planters, toys and assorted stuff that eventually has to come inside if the weather turns.
That's It.
No emergency shopping trip.
No rushing to the gas station.
No staring at a forecast cone.
Just a quick check while the shelves are stocked, the roads are normal and you have time to fix the little things.
The goal isn't to spend hurricane season worrying about hurricanes.
It's to be prepared enough that you don't have to.
Preparation isn't something you finish. It's something you maintain.
